Ruffled Floral Cake by Cake Craze
The Cake of the Week comes from a very talented cake designer & instructor from Australia, and she just so happens to be a former Ultimate Sugar Show Instructor.
Designed by Michelle Smith of Cake Craze this phenomenal cake was inspired by a gown design from Ralph & Russo. This cake uses an impressive ruffled floral technique that provides texture a sense of movement to this cake.
The cake also includes hand painted flowers using Poppy Paint's White, Frozen and Lavender colors on the top tier. You will also notice silver leaf accents on some of the ruffled flower petals. The cake sits a top a presentation board that doubles as a cake stand by Cake Boards Avaré, a 2018 vendor from the Ultimate Sugar Show.
If you want to learn the techniques used on this cake, there is good news! Michelle is teaching this cake in both Atlanta (International Sugar Art Collection by Nicholas Lodge) and Chicago in 2019 with a potential for more dates in other cities.
Congratulations Michelle for winning the #CakeOfTheWeek title this week!

Edible, Yankee Candle Cake by How to Cake That
We came across this unbelievable cake in a Facebook group this week by Jennifer Spruce of How to Cake That. Everyone who I've shown this Yankee Candle cake to doesn't believe that it's cake until I show them the picture where a slice is cut out of it. It's simply amazing!
